We’ve installed two state-of-the-art Electrical Ecosystem Training Bays and two Solar Thermal Training Bays at The Cornwall College Group’s Camborne Campus and are delighted with Project Manager, Jon Ninnes’ vision for the bays. This initiative is part of Cornwall College’s wider effort to promote renewable energy and sustainable practices, supporting a variety of vocational courses and apprenticeship programs focused on low-carbon technologies under the Construction Skills Hub project. Pioneering Green Technology Installations at Cornwall College 

Cornwall College’s new training bays are the heart of their Green Construction Skills Academy, helping them establish themselves as a leader in sustainable vocational training in the UK. These hubs house advanced Electrical Ecosystem Training Bays, which incorporate Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels, battery storage systems, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Additionally, Quantum has set up Solar Thermal Training Bays, equipping students with the tools they need to thrive in the fast-growing green energy sector.

Communication has been excellent throughout, from design to booking installation and arranging Train the Green Trainer sessions for our staff, along with arranging additional supply of teaching materials to support their new Level 2 Qualification.” 

“I can’t speak highly enough about our experience with Quantum, and I’m very much looking forward to the next phase in our journey, which is an installation on a second campus. This installation has double the amount of equipment we could accommodate on the first campus, and will add enormously to the Curriculum offer in this location.” 

“These installations are the heart of our two new Green Technologies Hubs, which will add huge value across a range of Curriculum offers. We will be using it to demonstrate the technologies to a large number of Year 10 students from local schools, joining us to investigate the future career opportunities in Renewable Technologies in Cornwall. The equipment will also be supporting our Plumbing and Heating Apprenticeships on the Environmental pathway, as well as the new Low Carbon Technician Apprenticeship. Case Study: Buckinghamshire College Group, Aylesbury Campus Green Skills Hub

Bucks Green Energy Skills Hub was a great example of a speedy turnaround installation. We completed our first site visit to Bucks’ Aylesbury Campus in mid-January 2024; our quote was accepted early February and the Hub was commissioned at the beginning of March 2024 complete with five Air Source Heat Pump Training Bays, three Electrical Ecosystem Bays and Three Solar Thermal Training Bays.

The Hub had a grand opening on the 21st of May 2024 and was attended by several leading renewables manufacturers including, Mitsubishi, GivEnergy, MCS, Weissmann as well as Buckinghamshire Council.
